Description
The Villa Capra is also called Villa Rotunda, due to its completely symmetrical quartet plan with a central circular hall. This view illustrates the openness surrounding parts of the building. Recalling the renaissance idea of the gentleman farmer, the fields in this photo were planted with corn. The raised embankment on the central axis shows a newly re-planted allee (seen on the right).
