Description
As a construction technique, if a family did not have the money to pay workers to carve out the ornate details typical of more affluent members of society, the workers would simply paint into the mud or stonework details that mimicked the carvings and insets. The white lime-bleach paint work applied to the mud and mud-brick is typical in Sana'a'
