"MVVA, working with sculptor Martin Puryear and ARUP (engineers), redesigned an existing courtyard at the New School University. The intent was to combine landscape, outdoor spaces, a connecting canopy, and sculptural furniture, and to introduce planting and other forms of seasonal variety to form an outdoor classroom and a soothing urban space. The design also provides a means of wheelchair access to this important outdoor space where graduation related events occur."
