Description
In Vancouver, psychologists Jacalyn Snodgrass and James Russell explored an aspect of emotional meaning (1986). They derived a list of perceived districts in the city and then obtained evaluations of each district. The maps show several dimensions of emotional meaning. The descriptors included pleasant, exciting, arousing, distressing, unpleasant, gloomy, sleepy, and relaxing. (Nasar, 1998: pp. 108-110)
