Description
The Solana Office Complex site is an 850-acre portion of former ranch land, 30 miles from the Dallas/ Forth Worth Airport. Solana was planned by a collaborative team of architects, planners, engineers, and landscape architects, including Barton Myers, Mitchell/ Giurgola Architects, Ricardo Legorreta Arquitectos, and Peter Walker and Partners. Housed on the site are a series of office buildings, a shopping center, a hotel and conference center and a host of landscape elements including parterres, winding streams, canals, allees, street gardens, fountains and natural meadows, fields, grasslands, prairies and wooded areas. A freeway bisects the site complete with interchange. The IBM office complex and marketing center anchor the complex. Submitted by Kay Bea Jones for ARCH 698.
