Description

"The building of the national headquarters of the CDU political party is part of a reorganisation project that affects the whole area known as the Triangle. A pocket park is situated in the center area is being surrounded with embassy buildings, office, shopping and residential buildings. The urban planning concept was designed by the Machleidt + Partner and Walther Stepp planning group. At the southern corner, a building is being constructed which has its main characteristic in the fact that the structure of the building is set in a gigantic winter garden which is planned to fulfil ecological functions. It offers the necessary sound insulation, and at the same time it is a climatic buffer zone to protect the building from heat in the summer and to gain heat in the winter." --Kieren, M. (1998).
