Description

This was a student project by Nicholas Lewis for Dan Wood, Amale Andraos, and Luke Kautz's ARCH 844 course, Autumn 2006. Project Description: "Project to propose a new museum in Mansfield, OH which would become a regional attraction and revive the downtown area of Mansfield. The program includes 10 museum galleries, tanning salon, hot air balloon station, high speed train connection (underground), 2 theaters, café, and orchard. The problem was how to use both the subject matter of ordinary and extraordinary as well as the building of generic and exceptional to frame arguments around the purpose of a museum and its place within a city; while simultaneously using a complex program to create new relationships between disparate uses and users." -- Nick Lewis This work is a part of the online collections of the Knowlton School of Architecture Student Archives, The Ohio State University.
