North and Central America->United States->Illinois->Chicago->Art Institute of Chicago
Description
"The expansion plan calls for the construction of a new L-shaped building, which will replace the former Goodman Theater providing the complex with 260,000 sqf. The new building is light glass, steel and limestone structure, which perfectly fits into the 19th century architectural identity of the existing buildings. It houses additional art galleries, providing the site with new public functions, such as large educational facilities, a museum shop and a restaurant...The building will be organized along a crystal roofed internal street which will connect both visually and physically the Art Institute to the neighboring Lakefront Millennium Park." -- Reference
