Description

The Athenian Acropolis represents the apex of Greek architecture. Most of what we see today was begun under Pericles in the mid-5C BCE. This monument was originally dedicated in 178 BCE in honor of king of Pergamon, Eumenes II, for his victory in the Panathenaic Games. Later, in 27 BCE, the monument was dedicated to Marcus Agrippa. The Archivision Collection of Ancient Sites was funded by the Jack Martin Balcer Library Endowment.
