This exhibition titled "Modified Thoroughfare" was located in the Banvard Gallery on the main level of Knowlton Hall from February 12 through March 13 2007.
The exhibit is a site-specific installation of new work by sculptor Soo Sunny Park. Park demonstrates in her large-scale installations a deftness in the juxtaposition of materials and an attention to light and mood. Her assemblages show a penchant for the recontextualization of a wide variety of materials, from the quotidian to the cutting edge. The KSA Banvard Gallery installation combines common materials like plastic cups and chain-link fence with 3M retroreflective glass beads and custom automated lighting to create a series of effects exploring themes of epigenetics, transition, and dislocation.
