Description
The Lincoln Memorial resides at one of the memorial locations recommended by the McMillan Commission, but not created until the 1920s when the plan of Washington was carried out. The memorial was designed by Henry Bacon. Lining the mall and the Reflecting Pool are American Elms. This view of the Lincoln Memorial is from the east end of the Reflecting Pool from the western wall of the World War II memorial.
