"The Arch at Labná, which overlooks EL Mirador temple, was the entryway to the site's elaborate palace. The arch was not freestanding, but was attached on either side to a building complex and led to an inner courtyard. Small thatched huts flanked either side of the arch's opening and are believed to have contained statues or images of gods.
The exterior facade of the arch features simple geometric patterns, while the interior facade, facing west toward the courtyard, features a detailed mosaic frieze, reserved for the eyes of those allowed to enter the palace."
