Description
The original Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church (Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedaechtnis-Kirche Berlin) was built from 1891-1895. The architect was Schwecten. It was damaged in 1943 and destroyed in 1945. The new church was built from 1959-1960. It was designed by Egon Eiermann. The foyer and chapel were completed in 1963. The original stands as a memorial to the destruction caused by World War II.
