Description
This was a student project by Kevin Hayes for Jonathan Novak's ARCH 242 course, Winter 2006. "After a period of site study and analysis, generative (adaptable) models were created to react according to conceptual and programmatic needs. In this case, pushing/pulling forces reacted in opposing axes to stretch a linked cube of rubber-bands. This caused an expansion along one axis when there was compression perpendicular to it, and the reverse for the axis opposing it. Programmatic concerns further manipulated the cube, and drawings were developed to transform the model from a diagram to an intermodal transportation terminal located on the corner of High St. and Nationwide Blvd." -- Kevin Hayes
