The amoeba-like Information, Communication and Media Center at the Brandenburg Technical University in Cottbus, Germany stands opposite the main entrance to campus. Reading rooms of different shapes and sizes are created by cutting back the floor plates of each floor. An expansive spiral stair cuts through the entire building, providing immediate access to all floors and an opportunity for informal socializing. The reading areas utilize a palette of white and grey while the circulation areas are coated in bright colors. Layers of silk-screened dots are printed on a double layer of glass creating a homogeneous surface of illegible text.
