Description
This sculpture is currently held by the Cleveland Museum of Art. It is painted limestone. "This statue is perhaps one of only three known images of King Userkaf-the first ruler of Dynasty 5-whose other monuments include a modest pyramid at Saqqara and a sun temple at Abusir. Here, Userkaf wears the two basic items of regalia that identify him as king: the tall, conical White Crown of Upper Egypt, and the royal false beard."--Cleveland Art Museum web site.
