Description
The Romans began the walls around the city; the Visigoths built them up further under King Wamba in 674, and the Muslims fortified them again. El Cid Compeador and Alfonso VI repaired and strengthened the walls to the present state. Keywords: Fortifications. Submitted by Natalie Martinez.
