On August 6, 2005, the Figge Art Museum opened at its new home on the banks of the Mississippi River, in Davenport, Iowa. The museum occupies a 100,000-square-foot facility designed by British architect David Chipperfield. The total project cost was $46.9 million and includes 35,000 sq. ft. of parking and 38,000sq.ft. of plaza.
