Description

F.I.C. is located in an infrastructural centre, and with its distinctive 20-storey high tower it stands out as a landmark and identification point in the new urban quarter - restad. The building is divided into two parts. A three-storey laboratory section, grouped around two green courtyards, and an administration section in the 20-storey high tower with an exquisite view of Copenhagen, Amager Fǽlled (vast scenic area) and Sweden. The two shapes meet in surrounding an open entrance level and a large canteen that faces the nearby metro station. The facade is constructed of glass and horizontal black enamelled metal lamellas that afford the horizontal view and the discretion of a slanting view as well, thus letting the passers-by perceive the building as a variable volume. --http://www.hlt.dk/
