Description
This photograph, taken in 2006, depicts the degree of damage sustained by the Defence Ministry Building of Serbia and Montenegro by NATO Missiles during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia (code-named Operation Allied Force by NATO) in 1999. The structure itself has been largely left untouched after the bombing campaign and remains a testament to the spirit of the people of Belgrade under foreign aggression and to serve as a reminder of the effects of war for future generations. This idea is likened to that of Berlin's Reichstag following the aftermath of World War II, as it was also left untouched for nearly three decades. Keywords: Serbia, government buildings.
