"On the east coast of Eurasia on the southern tip of the Liaodong peninsula in northeast China, Dalian stretches from 120°58' to 123°31' east longitude and 38°43' to 40°10' north latitude, with the Yellow Sea on the east, Bohai Sea on the west, facing the Shandong peninsula across the sea on the south and backed up by the vast Northeast Plain on the north. Dalian is the marine gateway of northeast China. Dalian is also an important port, and a trade, industry and tourism city." --http://2003.dl.gov.cn/i18n/en/index.htm This image was taken by John P. Schooley, FAIA, during the 1982 People-to-People Architecture Delegation to the People's Republic_access of China. The People-to-People Citizen Ambassador Program sponsored the delegation lead by Professor David Glasser of the Department of Architecture, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. This delegation allowed architects and planners from the United States to visit landmarks as well as communities at various scales, and to meet professionals involved in their planning and continued development.
