The Daimler Chrysler Building is one of three buildings designed by Rogers for his masterplan of Berlin's Potsdamer Platz. All three are mixed-use buildings. This building is a mix of office and retail spaces. According to Rogers, "The practice's aim was to provide excellent environmental conditions for each building, with inner courtyards opening on to the park alongside Linkstrasse. Integrating low energy design in a dense urban environment, light penetrates the courtyards, glazed atria and internal spaces. The units are designed to optimise passive solar energy, natural ventilation and daylight, creating innovative buildings with a high-quality user comfort. All office spaces are naturally ventilated, making use of night-time free cooling and solar radiation in the atria." --http://www.richardrogers.co.uk
