Description

The Church of San Francisco was established in the 13th century in Santiago de Compostela, a major pilgrimage city. It also houses the Franciscan Monastery of San Francisco. The overriding stylistic order is Neoclassical; however, there are distinct Baroque elements. The facade was completed by Simon Rodriguez (who also designed the Monastery of Santa Clara, Santiago de Compostela) in the 18th century and renovated by the sculptor Francisco Asorey in 1926.
