Description

"Ever Present Never The Same Ever Changing Never Less Than Whole, September, 1997, Robert Irwin". The Getty occupies a hilly site jutting from the mountains. The garden's main element is the process of enticing and pulling the viewer down the hill and away from the Getty plaza. Irwin's original proposal included ovals, but was revamped to its present state in order to correspond more to Meier's circular forms.
