The Berlin State Library (Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin) is located at Potsdamer Strasse 33, Berlin.
The Scharoun Building was erected for the State Library / Prussian Cultural Foundation, according to the plans of the architect Hans Scharoun, and opened to the public in 1978. It also houses the Ibero-American-Institute - Prussian Cultural Heritage. It is an academic lending and research library for more recent acquisitions.
