Ainola, situated near Lake Tuusula in northen Finland, was the home of the renowned Finnish composer Jean Sibelius. The home was designed by Lars Sonck in 1903. The Sibelius family resided in Ainola from 1904 until 1972. In 1972, the daughters of Jean Sibelius sold the property to the Finnish State. It was renovated and opened as a museum in 1974. Today, the museum is maintained by the Ainola Foundation.
