Description

This was a student project by Jared Brocklehurst for Paula Meijerink's course LARCH 6920 in Spring 2019.
A two and a half acre lot located at the corner of N. 4th and E. Long represents much of downtown Columbus today - tired infrastructure ripe for development. ‘Bier Im Wald’ (or ‘Beer in the Forest’) is a project that explores the relationship between tree canopy health, surface material, and sustainable stormwater management through strategic site design. Inspired by German beer gardens, the project considers the area’s diverse land use and ever-evolving transportation needs. .
