Description
"The WZB house is situated next to Potsdamer Platz, Berlin's new center. You enter the building through the "Rose Portal", setting foot on the former Imperial Insurance Agency, constructed in 1894 by August Busse. Behind it is a complex consisting of four new buildings all joined around an inner courtyard. Each building quotes the basic idea of a familiar form in the history of architecture: "amphitheater", "campanile", "stoa", "Christian cross". Completed in 1988, the ensemble of buildings was designed by the British architectural team of James Stirling, Michael Wilford & Associates." --http://wzb.eu/wzb/rundgang.en.htm
